The national telecommunications company Dhiraagu, in partnership with Samsung, has donated 50 tablets to the Ministry of Health.
CEO and Managing Director of Dhiraagu Ismail Rasheed and Managing Director of Samsung Sri Lanka Kevin Sungsu You handed over the Samsung Galaxy tablets to Minister of Health Ahmed Naseem at a virtual ceremony.
Dhiraagu stated it collaborated with Samsung to donate the tablets to the health ministry as part of its support of the government's digitisation efforts and pandemic management.
At the ceremony, Minister Naseem thanked Dhiraagu and Samsung for the donation and noted their numerous contributions to recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic. CEO Ismail Rasheed highlighted the important work of health workers to curb the COVID-19 pandemic and expressed hope that the donation will assist in the efforts to digitise government services.
Additionally, Managing Director Kevin Sungsu also expressed hope that the donation of tablets will assist in pandemic management. The donation will be utilised at hospitals to manage vaccination and other pandemic management activities, stated health ministry.
