Civil Service Commission (CSC) has revealed the new structure of administrative staff working in civil service has been sent to the National Pay Commission for approval.
Speaking at a programme aired on PSM News, CSC President Mohamed Nasih said the new structure of administrative staff in civil service was formulated to improve their pay scale. Noting the new structure has been sent to the National Pay Commission for approval, Nasih expressed hope the changes in pay can be implemented in the near future. However, he said some delays are anticipated in implementing the changes due to the financial implications of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
Speaking at the same programme, Acting Secretary General of CSC Abdulla Saeed said the structure of administrative staff has been formulated in a career-based system, similar to the structure of technical staff. As such, he said the structure will enable staff to gain promotions and pay increments based on quality of performance.
As part of efforts to strengthen the civil service sector, CSC has recently enacted three new regulations. This includes regulations on vacation, appraisal and facilitating opportunities for persons with disabilities.
