President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has confirmed the appointment of the President of the Civil Service Commission (CSC) Mohamed Nasih, as a member of the Judicial Service Commission (JSC).
CSC President Mohamed Nasih was appointed to the position as stipulated in Article 158 of the Constitution, which delineates the composition of the JSC, and Article 3 of the JSC Act, which mandates that the President of CSC should automatically be conferred membership of the JSC.
President Solih presented Mohamed Nasih with his letter of appointment at a special ceremony held at the President’s Office. His oath was administered by Chief Justice Ahmed Muthasim Adnan.
JSC is composed of 8 members including the Speaker of Parliament, a representative judge from the Supreme Court, a representative judge from the High Court, a representative judge from lower courts, representatives from the president, the parliament and the public, as well as the President of CSC and the Attorney General.
