Parliament of the Maldives has opened the opportunity for the public to submit complaints against the individuals who have been nominated for the vacant membership position at Tax Appeal Tribunal.
The President’s Office opened application for the vacant membership position at Tax Appeal Tribunal in March following the resignation of Aishath Azfa Abdul Ghafoor from the tribunal. President's Office received applications from Mohamed Munawar and Sheereen Naahidha Latheef by the deadline, which were submitted to the Parliament of the Maldives for approval.
As part of the review process, the Parliamentary Committee on Judiciary has opened the opportunity for the public to submit any complaints regarding the two nominees. The complaints must be submitted before 0900hrs on August 16, with the full name and contact details of the individual submitting the complaint.
Tax Appeal Tribunal is tasked with the responsibility of adjudicating all matters related to the Tax Administration Act or any other taxation laws. The vacancy at the tribunal was opened for legal experts in the field of taxation laws with practical experience in tax accounting.
