MTCC achieves ISO certification

Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC) has received the certification of International Organisation for Standardisation (ISO).

MTCC said it has achieved ISO 9001:2015 quality management certification which was awarded by the SSG UK. MTCC said a multitude of its services including construction, transport, logistics, sale of engine spare parts and equipment, dredging and land reclamation as well as engineering and docking services have helped in achieving the ISO certification.

CEO Adam Azim said MTCC has reached an important milestone and the verification from ISO will increase customer trust in MTCC even further. He said the company will better the services and ensure it continues to provide top quality services.

The state-owned company has been running various development projects across the country amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. The company generated a revenue of USD 16 million with a profit of USD 0.9 million after tax in the second quarter of 2020.

The company which runs a variety of projects in the construction, transport and logistical sector earned USD 11 million from two contracting projects and USD 1.4 million from trading. The company earned an additional USD 2.65 million and USD 0.5 million from land reclamation projects and transport operations respectively.

MTCC conducted a total of 75 projects in the first quarter, of which 14 have been completed successfully.
