President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has declared government offices will remain closed from August 4-6, as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19.
Government offices have been closed since July 26, as part of the extended holidays granted on the joint occasions of Independence Day, Hajj Day and Eid-al Ad’ha. Although government offices were set to reopen on August 4, the President’s Office has announced government offices would remain closed until August 6, as a precautionary measure against the spread of COVID-19 which has accelerated rapidly over the past few days.
The president has encouraged those who are able to work from home to do so, and to provide services to the public through online means.
