Mayor of Male' City Sifa Mohamed has called on the public to choose delivery services despite the ease on restrictions and the resumption of takeaway services from cafés and restaurants.
Speaking to PSM News, Mayor Sifa Mohamed urged to hold on to the best practices although a new normal is being embraced to ensure the safety of all citizens. The mayor stated it is important to take preventive measures such as using masks and gloves and maintaining physical distancing while providing and attaining services.
Furthermore, the mayor of the capital city noted efforts are underway to reopen the local market next month, adding preparing the policy and regulation to reopen the local market is underway. The mayor said the policy will determine the number of people to be accommodated in a single stall. Furthermore, mayor warned an expatriate cannot be a cashier of a stall.
A lockdown has been imposed in the Greater Male' Region since April 15 to curb the community spread of COVID-19. However, the authorities are relaxing the restrictions in phases and have urged all citizens to follow the instructions to avoid another surge of COVID-19 cases.
