HPA extends lockdown in Greater Male' Region until June 14

Health Protection Agency (HPA) has extended the lockdown imposed in the Greater Male' Region for an additional two days.

The lockdown imposed in the Greater Male' region will expire on June 14. HPA said the lockdown will be lifted and restrictions will be eased starting from June 15.

On April 15, a 24-hour lockdown was imposed in the Greater Male' Region following the detection of COVID-19 in Male' City, which was extended on April 16. A wider lockdown was imposed for further two weeks on April 17 to contain COVID-19 and curb the community spread in the capital city. HPA then extended the lockdown until May 28, followed by additional 14-days until June 11.
