Another 200 Bangladeshi workers repatriated from the Maldives

An additional 200 Bangladeshi workers have been repatriated from the Maldives.

The national airline, Maldivian, said 200 Bangladeshi workers were repatriated on the 10th repatriation flight operated by the airline to Dhaka, Bangladesh. The flight was operated as part of the joint efforts of the governments of the Maldives and Bangladesh to repatriate undocumented Bangladeshi workers from the Maldives. So far, over 1,800 Bangladeshi workers have been repatriated amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The government is also conducting efforts to repatriate workers from other nationalities who wish to return to their home countries. As such, over 2,000 Indians and 40 Pakistanis have been repatriated, with the help of the respective governments.
