Maldives Immigration has decided to waive the fine payments of the visas, which expires between March 19 and June 30 as the government offices are closed.
Immigration said the decision was made as employers and foreigners residing in the Maldives on tourist visa, dependent visa, work visa and others are finding difficulty in paying visa fee or renewing the visa amid the lockdown. Immigration has announced visas can be renewed when the government offices resumes work as the visa services are suspended.
All government offices have been closed since March 19 as part of the several precautionary measures taken to ensure public health and safety due to the outbreak of COVID-19 in the Maldives.
