Another 230 foreigners repatriated from the Maldives

Maldives Immigration has revealed another 230 foreign nationals have been repatriated back to their countries.

Immigration stated 190 Indonesians and 47 Europeans were repatriated as part of the evacuation programme. Immigration said the expatriates will fly to their respective countries via Colombo, Sri Lanka.

Immigration has also restarted issuing passports submitted to attain work visa before the lockdown order was enforced in the Greater Male' Region due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The office started issuing passports after many countries have begun the evacuation of expatriates in the Maldives.

Maldives Immigration has also been working with other authorities to repatriate unregistered and undocumented workers in the country.
