The national airline, Maldivian, has repatriated an additional 148 Thai nationals stranded in the Maldives due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The repatriation flight was organised by the Thai Consulate in the Maldives and the Embassy of Maldives in Thailand. This was the third repatriation flight operated by Maldivian to Thailand, bringing the total number of Thai nationals repatriated by the airline to 334.
The Thai Consulate has stated an additional repatriation flight will be operated to Thailand, with the date to be confirmed later. The consulate has requested Thai nationals in the Maldives who wish to return home to register at the consulate to book their slots on the flight.
The government has been making arrangements to repatriate individuals from different nationalities stranded in the Maldives due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The government is also working on repatriating locals stranded abroad due to the pandemic.
