Grocery permits can now be used once a week

Maldives Police Service (MPS) has announced all grocery permits can now be used once a week.

MPS revealed re-registration for permits is not necessary if a person is already registered. The police said a new text message will be sent for the permit holders detailing the new times they can do grocery shopping.

As health professionals expect the COVID-19 situation in Maldives to experience a surge, authorities have imposed stricter measures to minimise the impact. As such, transportation on the Sinamale’ Bridge has also been prohibited from 0100hrs to 0900hrs.
