Ministry of Gender, Family and Social Services has opened the opportunity for the public to donate to people in need amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
The gender ministry said individuals who wish to assist vulnerable people and families can make their donations via the online portal, Bandeyri Pay, established by the Ministry of Finance. Individuals are required to fill the payment request form, after which they would be directed to a payment portal where the donation can be made. The ministry said further information on how to submit the donations can be sought by contacting the ministry via phone or email.
The gender ministry has been assisting several vulnerable individuals and families amid the lockdown imposed the Greater Male' Region due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This includes 6 individuals from 2 families who were evicted from their apartments after being unable to pay rent, as well as other individuals who have been rendered homeless amid the lockdown for various different reasons.
The ministry called for public support in assisting the people in need, noting unity is required to overcome the pandemic.
