Economic Ministry eases reporting process of Job Centre

Ministry of Economic Development has eased the reporting process of the Job Centre established to report effects to employment due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The economic ministry said some individuals have notified the ministry of difficulties faced in reporting cases to the portal due to obstacles such as opening eFaas accounts. Therefore, the ministry said an application form has been introduced, which can be filled and emailed to the Job Centre to report cases. The form is available for download at the Job Centre portal, as well as the website of the economic ministry.

The ministry has also established a call centre to assist individuals seeking services at the Job Centre. The ministry said any doubts regarding the reporting process can be clarified by contacting the hotline 1475. The call centre will be operated on weekdays from 1000hrs to 1500hrs.

The government has decided to provide a monthly unemployment allowance of USD 323 for individuals who lost their jobs due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
