Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has called on the public to report any cases of corruption from government authorities amidst measures taken against COVID-19.
A statement from the commission highlighted and applauded the efforts of volunteers and all government authorities and stated the public has raised concerns regarding the decisions of the government to contain COVID-19 as some measures open doors for corruption. ACC called on government offices and professionals to demonstrate a high level of integrity in all actions to deliver services of the government despite the difficult situation following the global outbreak of COVID-19.
ACC further called on all people to report cases of corruption, assuring the public it will investigate the cases to the best of abilities under the powers granted to the institution by law.
The government has previously called on the people to report any illicit activities to the President's Office, stating the administration will be transparent in taking all actions to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
