Two more COVID-19 patients released after treatment

National Emergency Operation Centre (NEOC) has announced two more COVID-19 patients treated in Dharumavantha Hospital have been released after making a full recovery.

Speaking in a press conference, Spokesperson of NEOC Mohamed Mabrook Azeez said both individuals tested positive for COVID-19 while at Sandies Bathala Maldives. A total of 19 individuals tested positive for COVID-19 in Maldives. Four Maldivians are currently undergoing treatment while 13 patients have made full recoveries in Maldives.

Speaking at the press conference, Dr. Mohamed Ismail assured all patients are released after completing tests in accordance with the guidelines of the World Health Organisation (WHO). The doctor stated both patients were tested on March 18 and were released when the tests came negative on April 1. He said the other patient in Dharumavantha Hospital will also be released following the test results.

Furthermore, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) has announced samples collected from 49 individuals quarantined in Fun Island Quarantine Facility have all tested negative. HPA added they have been released upon completion of their mandatory 14-day quarantine period as per protocol.
