Maldives Police Service (MPS) has revealed 4 Maldivians were arrested in Indonesia before being released yesterday.
MPS stated the four individuals, aged between 34 and 46, had gone to Indonesia after transiting in Malaysia. While MPS has revealed they have all returned to Maldives following their release yesterday, the reason behind their arrest has not been revealed.
PSM News understands the four individuals include religious scholar Mohamed Hassan, whose permit for issuing sermons was revoked by Ministry of Islamic Affairs for promoting extremism.
