Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has published the voters’ list for the party’s primary of local council elections scheduled for January 31.
According to the voters list, 93,139 people are eligible to vote in the primary elections. The main ruling party said following complaints, there might be slight changes to the list. MDP has given a period of two days to submit complaints regarding the published voter's list.
The MDP primary is contested by 1,328 candidates, including 1,067 candidatesfor islands councils, 53 candidates for atoll councils and 108 candidates for city councils.
