JSC investigating 7 cases against Kanduhulhudhoo Chief Magistrate

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has announced the commission is currently investigating seven cases involving Chief Magistrate of Kanduhulhudhoo Magistrate Court Hassan Didi.

JSC stated the first case against Didi was reported in April 2019, after which six more cases were reported against him. The commission said the cases involve sexual abuse and harassment of employees, using abusive language and showing pornographic videos to employees. Didi has also been accused of forcing employees to act in violation of the financial regulations and using court property for personal use, as well as obstructing witness statements and encouraging violence.

JSC revealed Didi was summoned to the commission in July 2019 to obtain his statement regarding the complaints against him. The commission further revealed Didi was initially suspended for 60 days, after which an indefinite suspension was issued following criminal cases that were reported against him in October 2019.

JSC said the commission is currently undertaking the last stage of the investigation against Didi.
