President's Office has opened the opportunity to submit nominations for the position of Prosecutor General (PG), following the resignation of Aishath Bisham on Thursday.
The President's Office announced applications for the position will be accepted until December 1. The application form is available for download on the website of the President's Office.
Former PG Bisham resigned on Thursday, after the Parliamentary Committee on Judiciary began the process of dismissing her from the position. In a statement released to announce her resignation, Bisham said the dismissal motion pursued by the committee was insincere and unacceptable.
Bisham had been serving as the Prosecutor General since 2015.
