Maldivian National Defence Force (MNDF) has safely transported the foreign fishing vessels apprehended in Maldivian waters.
MNDF said the 7 fishing vessels from Sri Lanka have been docked in Hulhumale'. On November 22, MNDF revealed it apprehended 7 vessels illegally fishing in Maldivian waters. The vessels were apprehended 175 miles off Male' City. MNDF said at least 2 vessels had fishing nets cast, when a coastguard squadron reached the area.
MNDF did not reveal the number of crew on the vessels or the amount of fish they have caught.
