Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) has apprehended 2 vessels illegally operating in Maldivian waters.
MNDF revealed the vessels believed to be fishing boats were apprehended 29 nautical miles of Thuraakunu, the northern tip of Maldives. The defence force further added there were 9 people on one boat, while 10 people were on board the other vessel. Both vessels had the flag of India, according to MNDF.
MNDF said it is now conducting an investigation in collaboration with relevant government authorities.
