Corruption allegations against 4 Supreme Court Judges

Anti-Corruption Commission of Maldives (ACC) has revealed a case has been submitted from the public alleging acts of corruption committed by four judges from the Supreme Court.

ACC confirmed four judges, including Chief Justice Dr Ahmed Abdulla Didi, have been accused of using the petty cash at the Supreme Court to buy lunch. The other judges mentioned are Adam Mohamed, Abdul Ghanee Mohamed and Abdulla Areef, who is also the President of Judicial Service Commission (JSC). The complaint states the judges use the petty cash set up for daily administrative costs to purchase lunch from Bombay Darbar in Hulhumale' by sending a staff from the Supreme Court.

It is said the newly appointed judges to the Supreme Court, Dr Azmiralda Zahir, Aisha Shujoon and Mahaz Ali Zahir are not involved in the act.
