The representative from the parliament to the Judicial Services Commission (JSC) Hisaan Hussain has stated JSC will not hesitate to take up measures against any individual at any moment. The parliamentarian stated no one should underestimate that a position of power or post will deter JSC in taking up measures against anyone. She made the statement at the swearing ceremony of Hafiz Hilmy and Hussein Mazeed, the two newly appointed judges for High Court.
Speaking at the ceremony, Parliamentarian Hisaan said JSC will work to discharge the duties in line with its constitutional responsibilities. She said actions of certain individuals may eclipse justice to be carried out by judiciary and such individuals must not forget that they will be held accountable for their deeds. She remarked the biggest responsibility of the judiciary is to deliver justice impartially and judges are obliged to act according to law without a slightest hesitation and not supposed to express opinions on how a law must be formulated or administrative work be carried out.
Parliamentarian Hisaan said with the introduction of the new constitution in 2008, the judiciary has undergone some changes but has not undertaken the required reforms in the past eleven years.
