Judicial Services Commission (JSC) has decided to appoint two judges to the High Court of Maldives. The decision was made at the 70th session of the commission.
The judges appointed to the High Court include Hafiz Hilmy and Hussain Mazeed. Both judges are currently at Civil Court.
Previously, JSC had revealed 12 judges submitted nominations for the vacant positions at High Court. The announcement seeking judges for High Court was made following the amendments made to the Judicature Act in 2017 to increase the number of judges to 11. There are currently 9 judges on the bench at High Court.
