Judicial Service Commission (JSC) has decided to investigate disciplinary cases against 3 judges.
JSC said it has decided to investigate Ummu Kulsoom Aboobakuru at Eydhafushi Magistrate Court, Ibrahim Muneer at Gemanafushi Magistrate Court and Abdul Naseer Shafeeq at Civil Court of Maldives. JSC has forwarded the case to its committee on investigations. JSC has also not revealed any further information on the cases against the judges.
Furthermore, JSC has also decided to advise the Chief Justice Dr Ahmed Abdulla Didi, Supreme Court Judge Adam Mohamed Abdulla and Supreme Court Judge Abdulla Areef after reviewing disciplinary cases submitted against them. They were cautioned after it was found they confiscated documents related to a debt case of former Deputy Managing Director Mohamed Ikraam Abdul Latheef from the Supreme Court.
