Parliament of Maldives has extended the terms of the Secretary General, Consul General and Sergeant at Arms at the Parliament Secretariat.
In this regard, parliament extended the term of Fathimath Niusha as the Secretary General. She was first appointed as its Secretary General on July 9, 2018. Prior to her appointment, she had been the Deputy Secretary General for 6 years and has extensive experience in the Parliament Secretariat. On numerous occasions, she had acted as the Secretary General in the absence of the Secretary General.
Furthermore, the parliament extended the term of Fathimath Filza as the Consul General. She was first appointed as the Consul General on December 18, 2011.
Moreover, the parliament extended the term of Mohamed Haleem as Sergeant at Arms. He was first appointed on October 31, 2013.
The appointments were made with 59 votes in favour.
