Vice President Faisal Naseem has checked on the relief efforts undertaken by government authorities and volunteers for the tragic fire incident that took place in Male' City on September 20.
During his visit to Dharubaaruge convention centre, the vice president met with officials from the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and volunteers actively involved in the relief efforts and inquired about the progress of relief efforts.
Speaking to the volunteers, the vice president expressed gratitude, stating the volunteers had gathered within a short amount of time and had played a major role in assisting the authorities in the relief efforts. He thanked all volunteers for always being at the forefront of relief efforts.
The tragic fire incident in the capital city left one dead and about 400 people homeless. The largest fire incident in the capital city also affected 4 warehouses and 7 houses.
