Income Tax and Minimum Wage Bills to be submitted to Parliament this year

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has stated the bills drafted on income tax and minimum wage will be submitted to the Parliament for evaluation.

Speaking to the press, President Solih said the draft of the bill on income tax has been finished and will soon be presented to the Parliament and he expects the bill on minimum wage to be submitted sometime later this year. The minimum wage bill will determine the lowest amount for a monthly salary and the income tax bill is aimed to formulate a regulation to obtain tax from the wealthy.

It is an electoral pledge of President Solih to establish income tax and minimum wage in Maldives.
