ACC confirms investigations into candidates contesting in April 6 polls

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has confirmed investigations are underway in to candidates contesting for the parliamentary elections.

ACC revealed the commission has launched investigation into 8 candidates to confirm whether any cases of corruption were raised against them, adding two such cases of candidates have been concluded. ACC assured the cases concluded in favour of the candidates as no acts corruption were identified. However, the anti-corruption body did not disclose names of the candidates. Additionally, ACC added the aim is to conclude investigation into remaining cases before election.

The parliamentary elections is scheduled to be held on April 6, with 386 candidates competing for 87 constituencies.
