Elections Commission of Maldives (ECM) has stated 168 candidates have not signed the final voters list for the upcoming parliamentary elections.
Opportunity for candidates to sign the final voters list was opened on Sunday, and the deadline to sign the document came to a close at 1430 hours, Tuesday. In a tweet, President of ECM Ahmed Shareef revealed 218 candidates signed the voters list.
The final list of eligible voters includes the names of voters who would be of age, by the time polls open on April 6. The number of eligible voters stand at 264,589, including 2,336 first time voters.
