President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has formulated a Health Promotion Advisory Board to increase expenditure on creating awareness regarding unhealthy products.
The objective of the Health Promotion Advisory Board is to strengthen the management of programmes carried out to increase awareness among Maldivian citizens on general health protection, according to Ministry of Health. The board would encourage health practices that would reduce the risk of contraction and spreading of non-communicable diseases.
The board shall also assist media in creating content that would familiarize citizens with healthy habits. Working with implementing bodies in the implementation of relevant laws and regulations would also be a task of the Health Promotion Advisory Board.
Increasing expenditure on creating awareness regarding unhealthy products is among the first 100-days pledges of the current administration.
