HRCM to assess centres for people with special needs and elderly citizens

Human Rights Commission of the Maldives (HRCM) has revealed plans to assess the situation of centres specialized for people with special needs and elderly citizens.

In a statement, HRCM announced the decision to physically visit the centres and assess the situation to monitor how much the rights of the citizens are ensured. Moreover, HRCM said recently the amount of cases filed at the commission has increased, especially on negligence towards patients kept in such centres.

In the statement, HRCM advised to abide by the rules and regulations and to fully execute the duties of the centres.
