Maldives willing to further historic relationship with Bangladesh

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has expressed willingness to further the historic relationship with Bangladesh in the years to come.

In the messages sent to President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, on the occasion of the Independence Day of Bangladesh, President Solih highlighted Maldives and Bangladesh share common cultural affinities, further cemented by values of mutual respect and commitment to work together for the betterment of both the countries, their peoples and the South Asia region.

In separate messages sent to the leaders, President Solih extended warm felicitations and good wishes to the president and prime minister, the government and the friendly people of Bangladesh.
