Maldives and UAE have conversed on further enhancing the strong bilateral ties between the two countries, through collaboration in technical and economical developmental projects and in the areas of mutual concern.
During the courtesy call by newly appointed Ambassador of UAE to Maldives Dr. Saeed Mohamed Ali Al-Shamsi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives Abdulla Shahid congratulated on the establishment of a resident embassy in Maldives and expressed hope the establishment of the UAE Embassy will be an added milestone to the cooperation between the two countries.
At a meeting held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Shahid welcomed Ambassador Al-Shamsi and congratulated him on his appointment as the first resident Ambassador of the UAE to Maldives. Ambassador Alshamsi assured the minister of his commitment to work with the Government of Maldives to further strengthen the relations between the two countries.
