UAE have highlighted keenness to enhance trade and cooperation with Maldives.

During a meeting following the ceremony held to present credentials to President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, Ambassador–Designate of UAE Dr. Saeed Mohamed Ali Al-Shamsi expressed eagerness to strengthen collaboration in the tourism sector, partly by increasing flight connectivity.

During the meeting, President Solih further congratulated the ambassador on becoming the first resident ambassador of the UAE to Maldives. The ambassador thanked the government and Ministry of Foreign Affairs in particular, for the extremely helpful assistance throughout the ongoing process of finding a suitable permanent chancery.

On conclusion, the president congratulated the ambassador on the commencement of his term. The ambassador in turn expressed gratitude for the extremely welcoming reception he has been given since his arrival in Maldives and his positive expectation the friendship that exists between the two countries will be further cemented in the years ahead.
