All citizens should have equal chance to participate in development: Vice President

Vice President Faisal Naseem has stated every citizen should have an equal chance to participate in national development.

Addressing the ceremony held to launch the Ooredoo Smart Campus at Maafushi Prison, Vice President Naseem said the policy of the administration is to work together to provide equal opportunities for all citizens.

Speaking during the event, the vice president stated nobody should be side-lined from the society and the objective of the administration is to teach and develop talents of detainees and for them to get out of prison and live a prosperous happy life with the families. He also emphasised the policy of the administration in developing an educational community and that the smart campus is also inclusive of the efforts of the administration to promote the target.

Ooredoo Smart Campus is an educational instrument established by Institute of Correctional Studies, under Maldives Correctional Service, with the collaboration of Ooredoo Maldives. The instrument will be used to carry out different courses and educational programs of different levels to prisoners in the attempt of rehabilitation through education. The campus would especially aid in the incorporation of the detainees back to the society and make them ready for employment.
