Speaker of Parliament Qasim Ibrahim has thanked the Government of India for the aid extended to Maldives.
During the meeting held at the Parliament Secretariat with Minister of External Affairs of India Sushma Swaraj, Speaker Qasim Ibrahim highlighted the close bond shared by the both countries. Moreover, discussions of the meeting focused on the upcoming parliamentary elections. During the meeting, Sushma Swaraj assured Indian assistance to Maldives, adding her trip will further boost the cooperation between the two countries.
The Indian external affairs minister arrived on a two-day visit to Maldives upon invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid.
