Senior government officials from JP pledge allegiance to President Solih

Individuals appointed to senior positions of the government from Jumhooree Party (JP) have pledged to stand by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

In this regard, former Acting Leader of Jumhooree Party and Minister or Environment Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan said, members of JP will not vote for candidates of Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) and Peoples' National Congress (PNC) assuring the ruling coalition will be maintained.
Dr. Hussain Rasheed Hassan reiterated his pledge to stand by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Meanwhile, former leader of Jumhooree Party and Tourism Minister Ali Waheed stated he took oath to serve the country and stay faithful to President Solih. Tourism Minister assured to never support the ideologies of the opposition coalition.

The cabinet ministers made the remarks in the wake of comments made by leadership of Jumhooree Party, criticizing the main party in the ruling coalition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP).

Parliament Speaker and Leader of Jumhooree Party Qasim Ibrahim widely criticized MDP at a press conference starting that proceedings at parliament are not being conducted as pledged by president Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.
