Maldives expressed commitment in upholding the principles of democracy and good governance and to strengthen democratic institutions that can hold and keep political leaders accountable.
During the roundtable discussions hosted by The Atlantic Council about the democratisation journey of the Maldives, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid highlighted on the Maldives democratisation journey of Maldives and the challenges faced by the country in consolidating the gains of democracy.
Minister Shahid was accompanied by Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Ahmed Khaleel and Permanent Ambassador of Maldives to the US Ali Naseer Mohamed.
