Maldives stand ready to abide by the charter of the Commonwealth: President

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has said Maldives stands ready to abide by the charter of the Commonwealth.

During the meeting held with the delegation of Commonwealth Secretariat staff on an assessment mission to the Maldives, President Solih relayed the country is looking forward to re-joining the Commonwealth. He noted re-joining the Commonwealth is one of the key pledges of the administration.

At the meeting, the delegation thanked the administration for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to them during their visit. They stated the mission had been very productive and they were grateful for the opportunity to meet with and speak to many different sectors of the state.

Concluding the call, the delegation congratulated President Solih on his assumption of office and expressed best wishes towards the administration. In addition, the delegation commended on the administrations’ ambitious 100 days agenda.
