Maldives hope friendly relations with Nauru will be maintained

Maldives expressed friendly relations that exist with Nauru will be maintained and further strengthened in the future.

In a message sent to Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade, Public Service, Climate Change, Police and Emergency Services, on the joyous occasion of the Independence Day of Nauru, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Maldives Abdulla Shahid extended warm greetings and good wishes to the government and people of Nauru. He further wished for further progress and welfare of the people of Nauru.

Nauru became self-governing country in January 1966. On 31 January 1968, following a two-year constitutional convention, Nauru became the world's smallest independent republic.
