PPM grants party tickets to 16 individuals without a primary

Progressive Party of Maldives (PPM) has granted party ticket to former Minister of Legal Affairs at the President's Office Aishath Azima Shakoor to compete in the upcoming parliamentary elections. The son of former President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom, Ghassan Maumoon, was also given a party ticket.

Moreover, party tickets were granted to 16 individuals including Azima Shakoor and Ghassan Maumoon, without a primary. The tickets were given at a special ceremony held at PPM Office. Addressing the ceremony, former President Abdulla Yameen revealed even though PPM might not contest for all the constituencies, the party will contest for most of the seats.

So far, PPM has given party ticket to 41 individuals without a primary.
