Foreign Ministry joins the nationwide campaign to minimise single-use plastic

Ministry of Foreign Affairs has the nationwide campaign to minimise single-use plastic, initiated by President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih.

Addressing the ceremony, Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid praised President Solih, for leading by example, for launching the campaign to minimise single-use plastic in the President's Office. Minister Shahid also encouraged the staff to use natural light at work during the day, to conserve electricity.

At the ceremony, the minister presented reusable glass water bottles to the staff of the ministry, which could be used as a replacement for single-use plastic bottles. By replacing single-use plastic water bottles, foreign ministry said it will be able to eliminate the use of 27,840 plastic bottles per year and reduce the plastic-footprint.
