Adhaalath Party to contest for 13 constituencies in parliamentary elections

Adhaalath Party has revealed it will contest for 13 constituencies in the upcoming parliamentary elections. In this regard, Adhaalath party will contest for Kelaa, Vaikaradhoo, North Kulhudhuffushi, Makunudhoo, Inguraidhoo, Mahibadhoo, Mulaku, Nilandhoo, Gan, South Fuvahmulah, Feydhoo and South Maafannu constituencies.

While Adhaalath party have announced the constituencies it will compete in the upcoming elections, the main party of the government coalition, Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP), announced it will contest for all 87 constituencies.

Meanwhile, an agreement of the joint coalition was circulated in social media stating how the constituencies are portioned within the coalition. It was agreed that MDP will get 40%, Jumhooree Party will get 25%, Adhaalath Party will get 15% and former President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom will get 20% of the parliament seats.

In accordance with the aforementioned agreement, Adaalath party gets 13 seats.
