Islamic Fair 2017 begins at the Islamic Centre

Minister of Health Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim has inaugurated the Islamic Fair 2017 at the Islamic Centre. This year's Islamic Fair is celebrated to coincide with the celebrations of The Day Maldives Embraced Islam.

Addressing the inauguration of the Islamic Fair 2017, the Minister of Health highlighted that such fairs play a crucial role in countries with a 100% Muslim population and stated that such events rekindle the Islamic faith among citizens. He stated that such fairs provide the ideal platform for the public to attain knowledge about the Islam.

The Minister further highlighted various efforts by the administration of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom to reinforce the Islamic faith in the nation. Minister Nazim applauded the successful 'Hukuru Ufaa' programme; a joint effort of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Public Service Media (PSM), conducted every Friday.

This year's Islamic Fair is conducted in two sessions. The afternoon session is dedicated to children and consists of activities targeting children. The evening session targets adults.

The Islamic Ministry revealed that Q&A sessions would also be carried out as part of the event. Various governmental and non-governmental organizations are participating in this event.

This year's event is carried out in the Islamic Centre area from 4pm to 10pm. The fair will end on Sunday.
