First Lady Fathimath Ibrahim has mobilized aid for people, severely affected by the current weather conditions in Maldives. Under this initiative, the First Lady has formed a working group at the Campaign office of President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom. They have been assigned to closely monitor and evaluate the current situation and providing necessary aid.
In an exclusive interview with PSM News, a leading member of this initiative Adil Moosa stated that various islands of Maldives have been badly affected by the tidal surges. Adil stated that First lady Fathimath Ibrahim is closely monitoring the situation and personally attending to cases in severly affected areas.
Adil further revealed that the focal points of the task force have been setup at various parts of Maldives and information about the current conditions are being attained from them. He further added that they are working with relevant authorities to speed up the process of delivering aid. President Yameen assured that he has personally instructed all relevant authorities to take necessary measures to ensure the safety of the Maldivian people.
