President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom has called on all authorities to be prepared to ensure the safety of all citizens of Maldives.
In a tweet by the Spokesperson of the President's Office, President Yameen urged all citizens to take all precautionary measures, following the current weather conditions being experienced across country.
In the tweet, the President further assured that damage assessment and aid provision work have already commenced and that the current administration would always remain committed in ensuring the safety of the citizens of the country. According to Maldives Meteorological Service, the cyclonic storm, Ockhi, formed in the South Asian region has intensified and is currently traveling away from the Maldives.
