Maldives concludes first ever National Youth Forum

Minister of Youth and Sports Iruthisham Adam has stated that efficient discussions were conducted on how youth participation can be enriched in the development of Maldives by the participants of the National Youth Forum.

Addressing the participants of the forum, Minister of Youth and Sports Iruthisham Adam highlighted that important discussions were conducted at the first ever National Youth Forum. Youth Minister Iruthisham revealed that discussions focused on ways youth can be more involved in the development of Maldives. The main aim of the Youth Forum, held in commemoration with the National Youth Day, was to involve youth in the development process, added the Youth Minister.

Minister Iruthisham further noted that youth play a pivotal role in the development of any country and the opportunities created by the government for the youth were revealed during the forum. Continuing on, Minister Iruthisham cited that the opinion of panelists and participants of the forum will be used in the future while planning programmes for youth.

Highlighting the various infrastructure development projects of the government, the Minister assured that these projects will ensure job and business opportunities for youth.

During the forum, information were delivered from five areas, including environment, education and social, sports, economy and religion. The panel of the forum included experts from relevant fields. 

Over 100 youth participated in the National Youth Forum organised by the Ministry of Youth and Sports.
